American Paint Horse Association (APHA) recently hosted its annual Workshop, which consists of committee meetings and future
planning by the Executive Committee, committee members, national directors and other participating members. Rule change proposals
were reviewed and those that were approved will be presented at Convention in October for voting. The three key developments
coming out of Workshop included:• The World Show Qualifying proposal
was approved and will be implemented for the 2012 APHA World Championship Shows. This proposal was strongly supported by the
majority of the APHA Board of Directors and specifically the Amateur, Youth, Breed Improvement, and Show and Contest committees.

transparent by a new nomination procedure. Out of 10 nominees, five were interviewed and narrowed to three candidates that
will be presented at Convention in October for voting. In the past only one nominee was presented and the floor took additional
nominations. The three Executive Committee nominees for 2011 are: Susie Shaw of Parsons, Tennessee, Mike Short of Edmond,
Oklahoma, and George Ready of Hernando, Mississippi.• AjPHA (American
Junior Paint Horse Association) Youth President-Elect Garrett Skinner announced his 2010-2011 Presidential Service Project
titled, “See It In Color.” His project will raise money for Muscular Dystrophy through a series of Calcutta classes
at APHA shows. The first See It In Color Calcutta will take place at the 2010 Youth World Championship Show this summer. In
addition to the meetings, the American Paint Horse Foundation hosted a benefit dinner that raised over $10,000 for projects
such as youth scholarships, therapeutic riding and more. More About APHACurrently,
