A word from Serina--Youth President: The
2011 New Mexico Paint Horse Club year was a wonderful time. Many youth visited our shows and we had a lot of fun together.
Not only do we all share a passion for horses and good horsemanship, we have shared in friendships that will possibly last
a last time.
If you have not
attended one of our shows, I personally invite you to show with us in 2012. We have a lot of fun things planned
for the youth. Just remember we usually have three approved shows each year, plus the New Mexico State Fair. Our
July and August shows have been typically two day shows and we have fantastic youth-family Saturday evening parties.
I also have a special community service project I feel very passionate about. If you like to read and would like to spread
the passion of reading, I look forward to visiting with you about my literacy project. Did you know that New Mexico,
according to the State of Literacy in America, is ranked 48th in the nation with its very low literacy levels. My friend
and I have formed the A.P.P.L.E. Literacy foundation. Check out www.appleliteracy.org to learn more and get involved. We would love to have branches of A.P.P.L.E. everywhere. A.P.P.L.E. stands for A Plan
to Promote Literacy Everywhere. I also have another website on my specialty children's literacy program www.readforjopy.org.
Sincerely,
Serina Pack
