NMPEA / NMPHC Show rules 2010 Paint Show Rules:APHA rules shall apply when not covered by NMPHC rules
  • All entries must be made on approved show forms and filled out completely.
  • All horses must have an APHA registration certificate. Horses may be registered at the show prior to the start of the show.
  • Owners and exhibitors must have a current APHA membership card.
  • Youth and open exhibitors may join APHA at the show prior to exhibiting
  • Novice Amateur and Amateur exhibitors must have a current APHA membership card verified by the show secretary before they may show in a novice amateur or amateur class.
  • Youth exhibitors must have a current APHA Youth membership card verified by the show secretary before they may show in a youth class.
  • Name of owner and membership number must be the same as listed on the registration certificate.
  • Registration papers and membership cards must be shown to the show secretary before entries will be accepted.
  • Age of horse is classified as being a Junior Horse or Senior Horse by APHA rules.
  • A person will be named at each show to act as the “Exhibitor Representative”. Exhibitors, owners and spectators will not direct any questions to any Judge on the show grounds. All questions must be addressed through the Exhibitor Representative.
  • Show management may cancel classes if there are two (2) or fewer entries, or they may combine classes to make a point class where APHA rules permit.
  • Halter classes may be combined at the discretion of the show management where APHA rules permit.
  • When two (2) classes are combined, the class having the higher class number will be the shown class and in that class order. (Example: if class #5 and class #9 are combined, the class will run in class #9’s position). In addition, if it is a pattern class, the higher class pattern will be run.
  • No entries will be accepted after a class has been announced as combined.
  • Refund of entry fee will only be made when a class has been canceled by the show management.
 Division Award Points:
  • No points will be awarded to a disqualified entry in a class, but the entry will count toward the total number of entries in the class and the total number of classes entered.
  • Award points will be kept on one (1) horse one (1) exhibitor for Youth, Novice Amateur and Amateur divisions.
  • Open points will be kept on the horse only.
  • One (1) point will be given for Grand Champion halter horses.
      Daily/ Weekend Awards:
  • Awards will be given in all divisions. Youth will be divided in to 13 & Under and 14-18.
  • To be eligible for Youth, Amateur & Open  Horse awards, you must have shown in  one (1) halter and three (3) performance classes or four performance classes
  • To be eligible for Novice Amateur awards, you must have shown in three (3) performance classes.
 Year End Awards:
  • All Exhibitors must fill out a NMPHC membership form and pay the membership fee before points will be kept.
  • To qualify you must show in 3 of this year’s 4 shows. (April, July, August and State Fair).
  •  Awards will be given in all divisions. Youth will be divided in to 13 & Under and 14-18.
  • To be eligible for Youth, Amateur & Open. Horse awards, you must have shown in  one (1) halter and three (3) performance classes at each show or four (4) performance classes.
  • To be eligible for Novice Amateur awards, you must have shown in three (3) performance classes at each show.
  • Awards are based on the state point system not on national points.
 Year End High Point Horse Awards:
  • Will be awarded to the Junior and Senior Horses that have earned the most points in the Jr/Sr Open classes.
Year End High Point Exhibitor Awards:
  • Will be awarded on the “one (1) horse one (1) exhibitor” rule for Youth, Novice Amateur and Amateur divisions.
Super Paint Horse Award:
  • Will be give to the horse that has earned the most Jr. /Sr. Open points this year. To qualify you must have earned at least four (4) halter points and at least fifteen (15) points in three (3) or more performance classes. Speed events will count. 
Youth Super Paint Horse Award:

Will be give to the youth that has earned the most Youth points this year. To qualify you must have earned at least four (4) halter points and at least fifteen (15) points in three (3) or more performance classes. Speed events will count

            

All Breed Show Rules:PHBA/APHA rules shall apply when not covered by NMPEA /NMPHC rules:
  • All entries must be made on approved show forms and filled out completely.
  • Dress Code - Boots or “Heels Down”, long pants and long sleeved shirts are required in all classes. Western hat or English hard hat, are required in appropriate classes. (Helmets are encouraged and may be worn in any class). Chaps are optional.
  • A person will be named at each show to act as the “Exhibitor Representative”. Exhibitors, owners and spectators will not direct any questions to any Judge on the show grounds. All questions must be addressed through the Exhibitor Representative.
  • Show management may cancel classes if there are two (2) or fewer entries or classes may be combined.
  • When two (2) classes are combined, the class having the higher class number will be the shown class and in that class order. (Example: if class #5 and class #9 are combined, the class will run in class #9’s position). In addition, if it is a pattern class, the higher class pattern will be run.
  • No entries will be accepted after a class has been announced as combined.

  • Humane training devices may be used. The Judges will make the final decision on the use of all devices.
 Division Award Points:
  • No points will be awarded to a disqualified entry in a class, but the entry will count toward the total number of entries in the class and the total number of classes entered.
  • Award points will be kept on one (1) horse one (1) exhibitor for all divisions.
    Daily/ Weekend Awards:
  • Awards will be given in all divisions, Youth 18 & under, Amateur and Open
  • To be eligible for division awards, you must have shown in one (1) halter and one and three (3) performance classes or 4 performance classes.
  • Walk / Trot classes do not count toward high points.
 Year End Division Awards:
  • Exhibitors must fill out a membership form and pay the dues before points will be kept.
  • All money will be used for year end awards.
  • To qualify you must show in 5 of this year’s 7 shows. (April,  July,  August and State Fair).
  • Awards will be given in all divisions.
  • To be eligible for Youth, Amateur and Open Divisions you must have shown in one (1) halter and three (3) performance classes or four (4) performance classes at each show. 
  • Awards are based on the state point system.
